Hemp Paper & Saving Trees
It’s no secret that hemp which comes from the plant Cannabis Sativa is amazing.
It grows fast, doesn’t require pesticides, and the products that can be made from the different parts of the plant seem almost endless.
They have even started to figure out hemp based plastics.
Replacing wood based paper products with hemp based ones is a quick and simple way the world can start changing for the better.
It might be a little pricy at first, but if we all start to use hemp based products the industry will grow and more products will start to be made.
So what hemp paper products can you start using today?
In this article, I’ll go over some common things made with hemp paper. Hopefully, as time goes by the list will grow as more companies start to see the value in switching to hemp.

Hemp Toilet Paper
Toilet paper is one of the first things many people think of when I say hemp paper. And it’s true, soft hemp fibers make excellent toilet paper.
There are currently only a few companies that are working on real hemp toilet paper and right now they are being pretty elusive.
Hempies (click to see website) is one of these companies that is promising us some real good hemp toilet paper soon but so far nothing is for sale.
If you search for hemp toilet paper online there are a few companies in China that are advertizing their toilet paper as hemp based but it’s hard to know if that’s true or not.
Besides by the time it gets across the ocean your hemp toilet paper isn’t so environmentally friendly anymore anyways.
So for now we have to put a hold on hemp toilet paper until Hempies or other companies start mass producing it. Hopefully, there will be something for sale by the end of this year.
Hemp Filter Paper
Paper coffee filters are something most of us use every day. Getting a hemp based version of this kitchen staple is a quick and easy way to start adding hemp to your everyday life.
Like many hemp products options are still pretty limited but there are a few good choices that are a good start.
Bolio (click to view website) makes an unbleached cone style coffee filter that’s made with 50% hemp fibers.
If you’re ok with a little cleanup they also make a reusable hemp fabric coffee filter (click to see on Bolio website) that’s 100% hemp.
Hemp Rolling Paper
Probably one of the most available hemp paper products out there is hemp rolling paper for joints and cigarettes.
Why not go all the way and smoke your cannabis flower with paper made from the stalk of that same plant.
Companies like RAW (click to see website) make some excellent organic hemp rolling paper for all of your smoking needs.
Hemp Packaging
If you have a company and are looking to make the switch over to hemp paper based packaging there are a few options out there.
This company called Hemp Press (click to go to website) makes custom packaging for companies that is 100% made from hemp.
They’re a fantastic option and one of the few out there who know what they’re doing.
You can start shipping with a more environmentally friendly material and help the paper industry move away from wood based paper products.
Hemp Printer Paper
Printer paper is one hemp paper product you can actually find on the market today. Even Hemp Press who I talked about in the packaging section makes a standard printer paper that’s 100% hemp (click to view on website).
They also make other common printer paper products with hemp, like brochures and business cards
Hemp printer paper isn’t going to be that different from regular printer paper. It’s white and comes in different weights depending on what you want to use it for.
The main difference is going to be that hemp paper doesn’t tear as easy and it won’t start to turn yellow over time.
It also requires no trees to make and it’s dyed with non-toxic chemicals.
Hemp Notebooks & Journals
Hemp paper can be turned into notebooks and journals. If like to draw, journal, or take random notes in a notebook a good place to find hemp notebooks is the Green Field Paper Company (click to go to website).
They have all kinds of hemp paper notebook options and their products are made in the USA.
Conclusion About Hemp Paper Products
While the industry is still very new since the growing and production of hemp products really only became fully legal in the United States a few years ago there are still a few companies trying to lead the way by making what they can with hemp fibers.
I hope this list will grow throughout the years as hemp begins to become more popular.
One day we may not even need to be cutting down trees for our paper needs.
